COLLECTING: A HOBBY AND A PASIÓN

Collecting has been one of my favourite hobbies for me for a long time.

I have collected rocks, trunks, leaves, badges, bottle caps, sugar sachets, cans, stickers and some other things.At present and for some 15 years my hobby has been collecting pencil sharpeners.

My name is Albert Gironés Domenech and I live in the seaside town of Sant Felíu de Guixols in the province of Girona, situated in Catalonia, Spain, 100 km away from Barcelona.

I collect all kind of pencil sharpeners made of wood, plastic, rubber, metal, ceramics, resin and crystal. Also those made by different firms like: Playme, EMB Martí, Die Cast, Zinc-Alloy and Old-fashioned including smurfs, bullies and school.

At the moment my collection consists of 20.000 models.

Probably one of the biggest in the world.

Little by little I update and place all the sharpeners in different categories in my website www.agirones.com to make a reference tool for other collectors and in this way to exchange and contact to other people with the same hobby.
